I eventually found paper jammed in the machine and removed it. The WIA device is on the ideal side. The same goes with the white nylon wiper. You'll release one part only to find it hooked up at the next snap lock.

Nothing will fix it.However I think the most likely cause is a blocked printhead that the printers cleaning system can't clear. NOTE - Wear a rubber glove or something before attemping or else you'll have a couple fingers full of ink that doesnt come off very easily :P ... Most of them have to do with too much dried up ink. When I got it home and pluged it in it comes up with error code 6A00. I packed it in padding and placed it in a hardside suitcase and brought it with me to Uruguay whereupon turning it on I am now at the point described above. check over here I have seen and cleaned the two (one rectangular and one square) resting pads.

thank god. They sent me a complete unit with ink and printhead which was great since the old one had run out of ink. Just be careful not to force any parts to avoid breaking something.Thanks everyone - great posts on a great site.
