It fixed my problem with the service error 5100, which resulted from paper jam.After step 7 (having pressed the on/off twice) and turning the printer back on, it went into configuring Just thought this might help someone else. Everything now fine. I did not get an error warning. I have a MX357 I thought I tried everything, even #3 cleaning the clear strip. navigate here Once the strip had been cleaned the printer returned to normal.

This doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone else, so maybe I'm extra dense. I just pulled this printer out of the Goodwill pile after the old Lexmark we had ran out of ink and I was desperate!
